What's Up Wednesday April




What we're eating this week... JUNK. Oh my! We are going on vacation this week and last night we went to the store and bought some snacks for the 28 hours we will be in the car (round trip). Somehow every cookie, cracker, chips and chocolate we could find ended up in our shopping cart, I'd like to blame it on my 4 little children that were with me, but I think it was all my husband and me. 76 dollars later I was walking to the car shaking my head wondering what had happened. Then we had Pizza Hut for supper. Yikes. But yes, it was delicious.
What I'm reminiscing about... I have 4 children under the age of 7. I have a full case of "mommy brain." I rely heavily on my Instagram account to help me reminicse about these past few years. Last night I spent about an hour looking at pictures from my husband's IG of when my 7 year old was a baby until now. This is also a major reason I want to get back into blogging regularly. I love having our stories told and shared so I can remember them and look back on.
What I'm loving... Pinterest. We are beginning a new adventure of moving onto some acreage, building a house, and having a farm. I spend hours on Pinterest looking for floor plans, house decor, homesteading for beginners, animals, planting a garden, and how to grow a wildflower garden.



What we've been up to... We are loving this Spring Weather and if it isn't raining then we are outside playing.

What I'm dreading... giving up sugar when we get back from vacation. I mean I'm so looking forward to it and all the health benefits that come along with it. You know like actually having energy and being able to lose weight. But I am also dreading it because I know how hard it is to stick to it because I mean chocolate.

What I'm watching/reading... Fixer Upper - I love Chip and JoJo! and The Voice. I'm reading and coloring in my new Inspire Journaling Bible. Sadly, I have gotten out of the habit of reading books, but want to change that ASAP.


What I'm listening to... right now I'm outside listening to the birds chirp, a helicopter fly overhead, my husband whittling a stick, and boats on the lake in the distance. (All 4 kids napping at the same time! #win!)
What I'm wearing... yoga pants and t-shirts. All that I ever wear. Not because I work out, but because I need to lose weight and if it's not stretchy it doesn't feel good.
I think the more important question is, what are my kids wearing?

What I'm doing this weekend... Packing. Packing for a family of 6 for a week vacation is no joke. I have found if I make a list of everything that needs to come with us there is no stress to it and I can gather items throughout the day until everything is checked off. My kids love to help get what they can and having a list helps to know exactly what to tell them to get. As long as they leave the pile alone, we are all set. I make a pile of everything and then find the bags that I need to put everything into.
What I'm looking forward to next month... seeing my best friend from college that I haven't seen in 7 years! I can't wait for all the laughs that are sure to happen.
What else is new... recycling. We have started recycling. I was getting a little crazy about it until last night when we went to drop off all our plastics, papers, and cardboards and I realized that over half of the stuff I took wasn't allowed. Only certain plastics. I have a lot to learn. But hey, I guess some is better than none. It's crazy how empty our trash cans have been - well besides the piles of diapers from 2 little boys.
