We bought a farm!!!
Well, technically we bought some land to turn into a farm. Papa and Nani (my in-laws) and my family are moving to 7 acres of land, approximately 2 miles from where we live now.
Isn't this tractor a beauty?! Papa brought her home yesterday. She's a 1951 Ford something of the sorts who's going to get our land looking pretty. Our land is a flat 7 acres on a corner lot just outside of city limits. And we are only about half a mile from a boat ramp that leads into the gorgeous lake that surrounds our town!
I am so excited to move my family to the farm life. I'm dreaming of slow days, front porch sitting, and barefoot children. Nani is dreaming up all the different animals we will have on our land: a couple goats, chickens, a miniature donkey, and dogs. And BEES. I'm not so sure about that one. My girls and I are excited to add a few cats that Papa and Daddy can't say no to.
We will start a garden to grow our own fruit and vegetables. And I am daydreaming about a wildflower garden. Fresh flowers on my table everyday and plenty to share with friends.
My husband is daydreaming about hunting, knives, guns, and other man stuff that I don't understand.
There is still so much to do and we are only getting started, but we are going to enjoy each day and each step in the process. Right now we are getting our house ready to sell and are deciding what we will build and live in on the farm.
I'm so excited to create these memories with my little people, husband, and in-laws. To create a simplified, slow life where we will enjoy the outdoors and each other.
