Tell Your Heart to Beat Again

You may see a grainy picture, but I see a smile on my face that hasn't been there in almost 2 years. It's a real, full of joy smile. Guys, I can't even tell you how amazing it feels. It makes me want to shout, "I'M BACKKKKK!!!!!" 

It's been 8 days since I was healed from depression. The first few days I was timid, and I was scared this new joy was going to go away. I couldn't go back to where I was, the way I was living. Now that this 500 pound weight had been lifted off of me and I could see the sunshine, I couldn't imagine living in the fog again. I was careful, ready at any moment to slip back into depression. I wanted to believe I had finally been healed, but I was hesitant.  

I was listening to my worship music mix and a song I have never enjoyed came on; I almost skipped it but decided to listen to the words instead. God spoke to me through the words in this song. 

Here are a few lines that stood out and spoke directly to me... You think you're never gonna get back to the you that used to be. Tell your heart to beat again. Close your eyes and breathe it in. Let the shadows fall away. Yesterday's a closing door. You don't live there anymore. Say goodbye to where you have been. Beginning just let that word wash over you. Leave the darkness, feel the sun. 

After hitting repeat about 7 times and closing my eyes and breathing it in. I let go of the fear and breathed in this new life. I told my heart to beat again.
