Getting Ready for a Garage Sale in 1 Day

How did I get ready for a garage sale in only one day?! ...Stress eat. (Just kidding - kind of.)
We've been wanting to have a garage sale for awhile now. Last year we purged our house and donated 60+ big trash bags full of STUFF to a local charity. We gave away almost everything, I thought.  And somehow, I once again have a pile of things that are unused just taking up space in our house.
STUFF overwhelms me. And birthdays, Christmas, and shopping sprees (Amazon and Target) just keep happening. I'm truly considering getting rid of all of my kids' toys and letting them pick 10 things each to keep. I asked them today at lunch what they would keep and they didn't even blink an eye or whine that I would get rid of everything.
I think they would actually be happier. Quality over quantity. I think they are overwhelmed by everything as much as I am. And I can't just blame it on them and their toys. My husband and I also need to go through our things again and limit what we have. (Our hats and purses perhaps.)
BUT - this is the crucial part I missed last year... after I get rid of everything I can't bring in more!
So I am trying to take a laid back approach to our garage sale that is in 12 hours. My plan is that tomorrow we will get up around 6 o'clock (like we usually do thanks to our cute little alarm clock), put up the tables, fill them with our stuff, THEN go put out the signs, and then start pricing some of the items. (It's always so much pressure and stress at a garage sale when people are showing up before your garage door is even all the way open.)
This may not be the most profitable way to have a garage sale, but for me it's about simplifying our lives and gaining space back. Any money we make is bonus. (We will be saving the money from the garage sale for the family vacation we have planned with my family in July.)
I've gone through the house a couple times today, each time grabbing things as I go to add to our pile in the garage. I have a list of some of the bigger items I want to sell and that we will be able to get in the morning and bring out to the driveway.
Tonight we will make signs, get change, borrow a few tables, gather up lemonade supplies (girls are convinced they need a stand even though it's only going to be 64 tomorrow.) Tomorrow I will sign onto my old Facebook account to announce the garage sale (I've been off of Facebook for 2 years now, but it really is the best way to get the word out.)
And then I plan to sit back and watch as people carry off with them my extra stuff as their new treasures.
